STORY SUMMARY: (Olympic Valley, Calif.) – Another in a series of early season storms has left the slopes at Squaw Valley USA covered in white, building anticipation for the resort's November 21st 60th Anniversary Opening Celebration.

SUPPORTING COPY: (Olympic Valley, Calif.) – With only 9 days before the opening day of its 60th Anniversary season, Squaw Valley USA has again received a coat of fresh snow, heightening anticipation of the coming season.

3-4" of snow had fallen at the base early this morning. By mid-morning sunny skies and white slopes provided a spectacular scene. For a view of the snow on the upper mountain, skiers and snowboarders can check out Squaw’s Uber Cam at http://www.squaw.com/squaw-ubercam.

"The fresh snow gets people excited about the season," commented Savannah Cowley, Squaw Valley's spokesperson.“This anniversary season, tied with an Olympic year, is a big deal at Squaw Valley USA.”

Squaw Valley USA is celebrating two major anniversaries this season - the 60th anniversary of its founding and first season, in 1949-50, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Eighth Olympic Winter Games, which were held at Squaw Valley in February, 1960. The opening day of the season, on Saturday, November 21st, will feature a host of activities, including a BASE jump demonstration out of the Cable Car, a balloon drop, and an anniversary party in the Olympic Plaza.
