4, 2008 – Skiers and snowboarders could be skiing and
riding well into May as North Lake Tahoe ski resorts boast snow
levels among the highest in recent history.

Skiers and snowboarders are enjoying a robust
snowpack and looking forward to a long spring season. Several
of North Lake Tahoe’s ski resorts are reporting base depths
of more than 12 feet – some of the highest base levels
in the country. Conditions and weather have been exceptional
in recent weeks. At Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, it’s all smiles
with their 13-foot snow depth making for a long winter season.
Off
the slopes, visitors can still catch the 27th Annual Snowfest
through March 9. Not-to-be-missed events are the Mamasake Extreme
Food Challenge March 7 in the Village at Squaw Valley. Participants
will consuming a variety of unique food items, in this “Fear-Factor”
style competition. The Snow Sculpture Contest at River Ranch
on March 9 is fun for the entire family as snow sculptures are
judged for their creativity and originality.
