TITLE: SNEAK PEEK OF CABELA’S® OPENING NEAR RENO-TAHOE
New Outdoor Superstore Set to Open November 16

STORY SUMMARY: Reno, Nev. (Nov. 12, 2007)

Christmas is coming early for hunting, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts with the Nov. 16 opening of Cabela’s® in Reno, Nev.

Showcasing thousands of products from its world-famous catalog, the store will also have a number of educational and entertainment attractions including hundreds of animals in museum-quality dioramas, a two-story Conservation Mountain with running waterfalls and stream and 26,000-gallon aquariums stocked with live fish. With so much to experience, Cabela’s estimates that store visitors stay an average of 3.5 hours.

This will mark the opening of Cabela’s 25th store and will be the only Cabela’s store in Nevada, California or Oregon. The store expects that over half of its visitors will travel from more than 50 miles – with a large number of visitors expected from northern California.

According to the Fishing Hunting and Wildlife Service’s National Survey in 2006, there are 1.7 million people in California who participate in fishing, 284,000 in hunting and 2.8 million in wildlife-watching (away from home).Californians spend $2.3 billion on fishing; $732.4 million on hunting; and $4.6 million on wildlife watching annually.

Reno-Tahoe, America’s Adventure Place has long been a favorite destination for hunting, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts with abundant adventure available in the nearby Sierra and Northern Nevada wilderness. In addition to Cabela’s, two other nationally branded outdoor retail companies are planning to open stores in Reno-Tahoe. Scheels is scheduled to open the world’s largest selection of sports, sportswear and footwear under one roof in Sparks in late 2008, and Bass Pro Shops has announced that it plans to open an Outdoor World Superstore in conjunction with Station Casino’s proposed property at the junction of the Mt. Rose Highway and U.S. 395. With the ability to provide the full experience A to Z, Reno-Tahoe will outfit travelers for almost any adventure imaginable.
