BROADCAST VIDEO FOOTAGE AVAILABLE - Preview and download broadcast quality MPEG 2 b-roll footage (AVAILABLE NOW) at http://www.tahoemediacenter.com.

STORY SUMMARY: (NORTH LAKE TAHOE, California/Nevada) – Visitors get their taste of mountain culture at the Lake Tahoe Music Festival, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and the many museums located throughout the North Lake Tahoe region.

FOOTAGE DESCRIPTION: The footage includes current video of Lake Tahoe, shot Tuesday, July 15th, plus b-roll of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival (shot in 2007), Lake Tahoe Music Festival (various), and Tahoe Maritime Museum (2008).

SUGGESTED COPY: Summer is officially underway, and North Lake Tahoe offers an abundance of opportunities to experience the cultural side of mountain life.

The Bard has returned to the lake with performances of Richard III, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Cambio, an original musical that was created by the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. In true Tahoe style, the performances are played out on the shores of Sand Harbor outside Incline Village.

The sounds of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival reverberate through the mountains with performances by the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, Grammy-award-winning Chris Botti, Broadway stars Debbie Gravitte and Doug Labrecque, the ever-popular Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, pianist Jeffrey Biegel and acclaimed jazz vocalist Sophi Milman.

On the museum front, the Maritime Museum in Homewood has reopened in a new 5,800-square-foot facility, reminiscent of an old boathouse, with interactive exhibits and children’s visiting area. The Gatekeeper’s Museum in Tahoe City is a reconstruction of the original Gatekeeper’s Cabin – home of the water master who controlled the flow of water out of Lake Tahoe – and showcases Lake Tahoe’s Native American history.
