STORY SUMMARY: (NORTH LAKE TAHOE, California/Nevada) – Get your skis waxed. North Lake Tahoe ski resorts are enjoying some of their best early winter season conditions ever.

FOOTAGE INCLUDES: Current footage from North Lake Tahoe, shot on Dec 14, including scenic snowy, sunny morning shots from Tahoe City, skiing and snowboarding at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort, and soundbites (see below).

SUPPORTING COPY: A powerful storm rolled into the Lake Tahoe region last Friday and didn’t quit until it had dumped 5.5 feet of new snow at the ski resorts’ upper elevations, with two of the four feet falling in just 24 hours.

And it’s not just skiers and snowboarders benefitting from all that powder. Snow enthusiasts of all disciplines are basking in Tahoe’s sunny skies as they snowmobile, snowshoe, cross-country ski and build snowmen down by the lake’s edge.

Holiday events also abound in North Lake Tahoe. At the Village Northstar they are hosting Noel Nights this Thursday with free ice-skating and s’mores by the fire. The Cal Neva Resort in Crystal Bay gets into the spirit with A Christmas Carol, which will be performed all weekend. You can also take a photo with Santa and get your hands dirty at the Hyatt Regency’s Saturday with Santa and Gingerbread House Contest.

North Lake Tahoe vacations get even sweeter with winter deals. A new electronic kiosk, put together by the area visitors bureaus at www.gotahoenorth.com/cool-deals now offers a one-stop shopping venue for screamin’ lodging, ski, activities, dining and entertainment specials and values. Best of all – the site is updated daily.
