STORY
SUMMARY: January 9, 2008 –
Skiers and snowboarders are rejoicing with up to 12 feet of
fresh snow that has accumulated at Ski Lake Tahoe resorts from
the massive winter storm that hit the Sierra this past week.
With some of the deepest base depths in the country topped with
head-high light and dry snow, the conditions are excellent at
Lake Tahoe resorts.
FOOTAGE
DESCRIPTION: Footage includes shots of the recent storm,
skiers and snowboarders taken at Ski Lake Tahoe resorts, people
digging out, snowy Lake Tahoe, as well as sound bites (see below).
SUGGESTED
COPY: Heralded as one of the top fifteen storms to
hit the Sierra in the last fifty years by the National Weather
Service, the recent series of cold pacific weather systems blanketed
Lake Tahoe in over 12 feet of fresh snow in some locations.
From shore to shore, the truly exceptional conditions at Lake
Tahoe’s resorts offers lift riders everything from unbelievable
head-high powder to soft corduroy groomers. Several days of
intensive snowfall increased base levels with a solid snowpack
now covered with excess amounts of light and dry snow. In addition,
the new snow has enabled resorts to open nearly all available
terrain. With base depths from 70 to 130 inches or 5 1⁄2
to nearly 11 feet, Ski Lake Tahoe resorts boast some of the
highest base depth totals in the country.
