On Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort hosts Totally Tubular 2-for-1 80’s Day Thursday, April 1 through Sunday, April 4. Guests are encouraged to break out their 80s, one-piece neon attire and hit the slopes with 2-for-1 lift tickets.

Mt. Rose–Ski Tahoe offers up a Pond Skimming Contest Saturday, April 3 for the first 50 entrants. The resort is also putting on a Spring Carnival that day with live music on the deck, prize giveaways and taco and beer specials.

Squaw Valley USA hosts the first-ever nationwide Professional Ski Patrol Olympics Friday, April 16 through Sunday, April 18 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic Winter Games. The competition ranges from sled races, beacon competitions and simulated bomb throws.

Alpine Meadows Ski Resort hosts the annual Mad Cow Downhill Sunday, May 16 when the first person who makes it down from the top of Summit Char to the Lodge wins a 2010-2011 midweek season pass.

North Lake Tahoe vacations get even sweeter with spring deals. A new electronic kiosk, put together by the area visitors bureaus at www.gotahoenorth.com/cool-deals now offers a one-stop shopping venue for screamin’ lodging, ski, activities, dining and entertainment specials and values. Best of all – the site is updated daily.
