SQUAW VALLEY USA OFFERS A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES FOR THANKSGIVING VISITORS
Ice Skating, Snowtubing, Skiing and more planned for Thanksgiving Weekend.

STORY SUMMARY: [Squaw Valley USA, North Lake Tahoe, CA.] November 20, 2007- Thanksgiving Weekend visitors to Squaw Valley USA will find plenty of fun activities and events for all ages. High Camp, the resort's vast upper mountain facility, opened for the season on November 17th, offering ice skating and sightseeing. New snow fell during Monday's short storm, and snowmaking efforts got underway in the wee hours Tuesday morning, Nov. 20. Overnight temperatures are forecast to be in the 20's this week allowing for extensive snowmaking every night. The resort plans to offer snowtubing and open ski lifts as early as Friday.

Thanksgiving weekend events at Squaw Valley include:

Thanksgiving Thursday, November 22: Traditional Thanksgiving Lunch
Feast on a Traditional Thanksgiving Lunch at Alexander’s Restaurant or the Terrace Restaurant at High Camp, 8200’. Thanksgiving lunch is served from 11 am – 3 pm and is only $10.75 per person.

Saturday, November 24: Festival of Lights Begins
The Village will be twinkling and the 30 foot Christmas tree will be sparkling with holiday cheer! The annual Squaw Valley Festival of Lights (Nov 24 - Dec 24) is a wonderful time of year with Santa in the Village for Christmas photo opportunities, holiday shopping and dining and other great events and activities. The Village at Squaw will officially begin receiving toys for the Toys for Tots toy drive, as well.

Saturday, November 24: Premature Jibulation Rail Jam presented by Rome SDS
Thanksgiving may be over but the spirit of the holiday is alive and well at the Premature Jibulation Rail Jam. Registration is at 8 am and practice is at 10 am. The competition begins at 11 am and registration is FREE!

Sunday, November 25: Coogan Kelly Memorial Rail Jam presented by Snowbomb
In memory of a local snowboarder, Coogan Kelly, this ski and snowboard contest is an open entry competition with four classes: men’s and women’s ski and snowboard. Registration begins at 9 am, practice is at 11 am and the competition starts at 12 pm.
