SQUAW VALLEY USA RECEIVES TOP MARK FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORT
Skiers and Snowboarders Utilize a Variety of Eco-Friendly Facilities and Equipment

STORY SUMMARY: [Squaw Valley USA, North Lake Tahoe, CA.] December 12, 2007- Squaw Valley USA was recently given an "A" on the annual Ski Area Environmental Scorecard, a report issued for the last eight years by Ski Area Citizen's Coalition (http://www.skiareacitizens.com). In a release issued by the Coalition, Squaw Valley was noted as one of the 'comeback kid' resorts, recognized for improving it's environmental stewardship in recent years.

Skiers and snowboarders may not realize it, but they and other guests at Squaw Valley USA access the mountain and enjoy facilities that utilize a variety of "green" systems and techniques. Squaw Valley's energy footprint has been reduced through programs such as retrofitting old buildings, using biodiesel fuel, and investing in energy-efficient snow guns. In fact, nearly all of Squaw Valley's major facilities have energy-efficient systems.

Gold Coast – Incinerator
Cable Car Building – SCR Cable Car Motor and Energy Efficient Lights
